Microsoft just released a new build of Excel that contains a new VB Editor, which we use to write VBA macros in Excel. The new VB Editor contains a lot of the features we are used to seeing in the Windows versions of Excel, or Excel 2011 for Mac. In the video above I highlight some of the many new improvements to the editor. >>>I think MS wish VBA would just go away:-)for Mac in July, Mac OS X users around the world have been able to take advantage of the highly anticipated new features and improvements since the 2011 release. At the same time, some of our users also have sent us feedback. Won't work On Mac Activex has never worked on Mac except for a 3 month period when Netscape Navigator came out someone developed an activex plugin. Apple banned it after some research and found they way Microsoft has implemented it, at that time, there was no way to make it safe. There were no safety controls built in. So no one has created any activex software for the Mac. _________ Disclaimer: The questions, discussions, opinions, replies & answers I create, are solely mine and mine alone, and do not reflect upon my position as a Community Moderator. Phillip's history of Active-X on the Mac is not documented. What in October, 1996 Microsoft released a beta Active-X Software Developer kit for the Mac. After making Active-X open source both Microsoft and the Open Source community allowed Active-X development to remain dormant. Active-X was never banned on the Mac by Apple. Excel has built-in controls that can be adapted to perform the same tasks as Active-X controls. If you describe what it is you're using Active-X controls for, we can suggest ways to adapt standard Excel controls to work in place of the Active-X controls.
